COMMUNITY United States Politics Thread: Trump's Second Term

The issue isn’t the other factors. The issue is you didn’t mention race at all in your post. Trump only has this cult following because of racism. So everything that follows is on the back of racism.
So the issue isn't other factors or there were other factors at play? Which is it?

Are u able to have a convo beyond racism or is that inconvenient for u?

Trump won, in part, bc people sat out or they disliked Hillary. Do u disagree?

And do those factors not count bc racism was also a factor or are u tying those all together? Bc if u are it doesn't make sense.

Bernie sees class as being more of a dividing line than race. In theory he may be right in practice he's wrong because we've repeatedly seen poor white people go against their own self interest just so Black folks won't get something. I agree it's foolish to go against the candidate who genuinely wants to help everybody, but you also can't ignore the reality of how things work for how you want them to work. He's said he operates with the assumption that people aren't racist or bigoted til they prove him otherwise and to be his age and worked in specifically politics as long as he has to hold that naive of a pov is a huge blindspot when trying to sell himself to anybody who ain't white

His POV may be naive, but him actually trying to help everyone is still better for Black people than the establishment Dems only pretend to want to help people or the Reps who want to actively hurt people.

Hilarious.

The issue with YOUR POST was you didn’t mention race. Yes those other things played a role, but you failed to acknowledge the racial component in your post.

Are you able to have a conversation including race? As a black man, it always plays a role, particularly when we’re talking about why a racist president was elected.

You and I had a similar exchange a while back where you downplayed the racial aspect of an issue.

Ok, so what were the other factors at play in your opinion? Besides obvious racism

Well if you're talking keeping the US out of conflicts those drone strikes definitely didn't help. So there was much to be desired in how he handled that. He overpromised on the issue with Syria. He couldn't get Guantanamo closed.

But we know that when it comes down to it most folks who were criticizing Obama weren't doing it based on his policy decisions. And given the fact that a good number of white people revert to "We gave yall a Black president so race isn't an issue", which is a line you are toeing on the wrong side of, it's easy to draw a direct line between the racist and bigoted criticism of Obama to the rise of trump.

They made a big deal and days long controversy over that man wearing a tan suit and you want people to bypass and look beyond racism when it colored damn near every criticism thrown at him. You ain't about to get Black people to do that.

Are u just completely incapable of differentiating between non racist (non) voters and racists who voted for Trump?

And incapable of seeing how those are two completely different convos and I was only talking about one while u keep bringing up the other that I acknowledged like 5x now that u won't let go of for some reason?

How does this apply to ppl who voted for Obama twice that either sat out or voted trump/3rd party?

U painted a broad stroke and act as tho at least majority who didn't vote Dem in 2016 was eating up fox news talking points. Do u have something to back that up?

M
Can’t somebody just leak this shit already damn
Someone is gonna find a way to anonymously give it to an A.I. and have it spill it.

Shit be compartmentalized though. Like, certain shit be given to certain people with markers they are unaware of, that would lead to them being exposed as the origin of the leak.

So whomever ends up doing it, whom ever is smart enough, has the access, has the balls, and has the strategic mind to pull it off.

Even that in itself would be an indicator of who they are. So it’s gonna take time but it’s definitely gonna be brought force by some form of A.I.

I can differentiate, but I give the proper attention to the one that matters most to me. Nobody has even said it was all racism, but when we mention racism you quick to push the convo away from it.

Just like that last exchange I referenced, you condescending to black people that they should consider all sides when the side that matters most to us is the obvious racism.
