Maybe it wasn't, but he has made some questionable moves in my opinion. People have said he seems oddly too invested in Poeltl, didn't get enough for Siakam, and made other questionable moves. I think his recent draft selections were too defense-oriented, and in fact I think this year they had one of the worst drafts. I mean, even if you didn't like Queen's defense, Carter Bryant was there. And then they took Martin when Maxime Raynaud fell into their lap.

Doesn't make sense for the warriors to only come up with Dario and Devin. They were great defensively when Jimmy was upright. Their problem was scoring when it was just one of their stars on the court. They would need to get a real 3rd scorer when the trade Jonathan.
