ABW’s Top 5: Duwop

that shirt you got on in the heading was one of my favorites i ever had... i wore it till it fell apart... couldnt find another smh

Has beanie Siegel ever reached Nas’ peak? Fuck off
Here's the thing though...

Naw style....
You put him in with rae, ghost, black thought, scar face,

All top elite lyric rappers..... They are undeniably nice... But I've always gravitated to the high energy, witty, picking punchline, in your face rappers...

My honorable mentions are guys like Wayne, luda , big L, kiss and Styles.....

I recognize the nas and leveling
Kendrick, and kanyes as great.... But they Tim Duncan great imo. Fundamentally solid and can turn up when needed

But my personal preference is the Kobe slam in you face while talking shit.

I love Floyd Mayweather, but 80's Mike Tyson is who you'll see me arguing at a cookout to defend.

That’s all good bro but it’s wild niggas tried to get at me for LL COOL J but said nothing over beanie and redman

Also using your basketball example beanie and redman would be Scottie pippen and Kevin Garnett

And nobody would put them top 5

But your list is your list I respect it and appreciate it being different

I have a theory I shared before in here...

16-20 is your most true self. What impressed on you during those 4 years will be you forever.

Are these lists favorites or undisputed GOATs? Never thought I'd see Redman in anyone's top 5 except mine.

I used to have “In the Air” on repeat, but he way outta place in regards to the rest of that list lol
He has a mean 3 album run during a time where the field was crazy...collabos with Scarface, Bun B, Redman, Camron, Eve, bro was going off in the early 2000's

Also I was in school in Philly during beans height.

I can tell you wut full confidence... Songs like these took parties to another level

So when I say our, I'm talking college and club parties when I'm 19-21... Literally the Apex of banging outside.... I'm in Philly during this time.... Beans was absolutely that dude....

His beef with Jada was running simultaneously with Jay and Nas and most real invested hip hop heads would argue Beans/Jada was the better beef.

The world almost got a Mac and Brad album that would have further made the argument but between prison, the ROC falling apart and the eventual loss of his voice.... Beans had a rough few years that unfortunately fumbled that possibility.

So yeah, I know feel it in the air was his signature track.... But man......I had nothing like it as my ringtone for like 2 years.....I watched paper soldiers lemme 4 times a week.... It was just different for me...I could never in good faith make a top 5 without Beans,I wouldn't be being honest with myself.
