I haven’t said nothing to the nigga this whole month. False narrative
Every time I see one of you in a thread the other would come in and throw a insult unprovoked. Been that way for how long now.
I hate when someone gets banned and yall talk about them constantly lol
I wouldn’t want it lolWe would do the same for you.
Watching this Korean flick called "Witch". It has English subtitles. The girl was drinking a bottle of soda that was clear. The subtitles said "pass the 7 up". The label on the bottle was clearly not 7 up but some Korean drink.
This got me questioning all subtitles, lol. Didn't know Dr.Peper had that type of reach in the film industry.
That makes sense at times but for the scene I'm talking about, it was a certain soda that paired well with the snack they were eating. That is what the characters were talking about. I think they should have kept the orginal name of the soda in that case. The subtitles are for english speaking people. Sometimes the translators take liberties to make sure things are understood. If they put the name of the Korean drink instead, most of the English readers probably wouldn't have known what it was.
I dont expect every word to translate well but they know what they were doing when they said "7 up". Nothing but pure marketing.I think some words just can't be translated too
I've seen that just when the subs don't even match the dub lol
Some shit can't be translated to English cause there is no actual translation. I think thats the issue so they just chose the most similar American drink. That makes sense at times but for the scene I'm talking about, it was a certain soda that paired well with the snack they were eating. That is what the characters were talking about. I think they should have kept the orginal name of the soda in that case.
Naw, subtitles distract me because I begin to read them instead of just listening. Speaking bout the English speaking flicks.I watch everything with subtitles on even shows in English. Sometimes its easier to read dialog and understand quicker than listening. Weird but it's effective.
You fat bitch lmaaoooNaw, subtitles distract me because I begin to read them instead of just listening. Speaking bout the English speaking flicks.
If I'm watching a non-english movie/show and it only has subtitles, I have no issues. Only downside is I can't eat watching those kinds of movies cause I always miss some of the subtitles if I look away to eat.
Same. It also helps with accents, mumbling, etc.I watch everything with subtitles on even shows in English. Sometimes its easier to read dialog and understand quicker than listening. Weird but it's effective.
But if it is a brand name, it doesnt need a translation. At least I think. Some shit can't be translated to English cause there is no actual translation. I think thats the issue so they just chose the most similar American drink.
Like there's no Korean word for yoo-hoo. It's not an actual english word it's just a thing.
This is where I'm different. I actually hate English dub animes. It is something about the Japanese, Chinese, and etc orginal voices. Their voices makes the show more animated if that makes sense. Like their voices really make a scene funny if they are doing a funny scene. Animes are the only shows I prefer subtitles with orginal voices.Same. It also helps with accents, mumbling, etc.
I only do dub when it's an animated because I can't watch something and the lip movement not match the audio
