You mean her going all the way back to Utah to do some detective work? Nah I think for the show this was better. We don’t need to have her out on another adventure just to get this reveal.

Plus Joel lying about Eugene serves as a call back for Ellie which causes her to ask again. And Joel lying about Eugene serves as reason to have the therapist in the show, who’s a good character.

It also gives more depth to Joel showing that he’ll tell lies to protect people and the situation with Ellie wasn’t a one-off.

Thought the museum part in the game was so wholesome so I'm happy they added it to the show

They could have added more of the tour though. Didn't swim but that's fine

They didn't add the spray paint on the walls though. That would have actually been a nice precursor considering the signs were everywhere in the game

Man who was cutting onions in that scene though lol

All we needs was her outside the place and Joel pull up and they have that conversation. Mixing two different scenes on the show not right.

People critique the show that's based on the game and you and the others complain about it

Like the whole 1:1 crap one of you came up with

The game is the reason for the show. You and the others want to accept whatever the show changes and complain about anyone saying something negative they didn't like. Like it's all good if you all accept all the changes but you guys keep going at us for disliking a change

Wanting to see the retelling of the story of the game isn't a bad thing

I mean the way I see it if you want a 1:1.. go replay the game or watch it on youtube.

I came into the show with the expectation that it's not going to be exactly the same and i'm ok with that. Some changes will hit the mark.. some wont. But coming in week after week saying aw damn they aint do the EXACT dialogue or do THIS or THAT the exact same way seems tiresome. Not sure how you can enjoy the show looking at it through that lens 🤷🏽‍♂️

You guys wanna go to that extreme of exactly the same things to make your point across and I don't know why

And you and the others are coming in week after week to complain about someone critiquing some change. Like you guys are the authority on opinions of the show.. You guys are okay with all of the changes and some of us aren't. Like I said the reason the show even exists is because the story was great

For me I'm watching the show because I love the story of the game. I get the impression you guys don't really care about the story 🤷‍♂️ . There are aspects that won't translate because it's controller based or something else

Also another thing. It's subjective. Ya'll need to learn people have different opinions on the show. Just like people had different views on Ellie, Abby, and Joel lmao

I just got back home from vacation and didn't get any sleep so rant over lol

Spot on.

We go in knowing some things are gonna be different. Some thing gonna get expounded on(every one of the expansions, I approve of and enjoyed, btw) and some things get removed for the sake of time and/or budget.

We just saying some things didn’t need to be changed, because it was literally perfect. Zero fat. No notes. No need to change it because it wasn’t gameplay it was already cinematic. Translates flawlessly.

Jury is out on how they switched up the porch scene, because that’s another one that I feel hit harder in game, but the reason they gave for switching it up makes sense.

Love that they gave us more Joel backstory tho. And see that watch actually came from his dad

I've seen that online. That side is really trying to push it that gamers were fantasizing about Ellie in part 1. Shit is super weird they go that route. Plus Ellie is 19 in part 2 so they need to stop with that anyway

thats one way to look at it. Or we could have enjoyed the games story AND are enjoying the different experience the show is presenting. We all have our opinions thats the point of the thread, to discuss the show lol. Me disagreeing with yall about not liking some of the changes is part of the discussion. We agree on this point though a 40+ hour game aint necessarily gonna translate all the way over in a 7(45 minute each) episode season so some of the stuff we loved in the game isnt gonna make it. Thats the point I been making.

Anyway - we'll all be back next week regardless lol. Yall fuckin with this season more or last season?
