I ain't part of his defense team so idk. Only can guess they're trying to show that if Cassie was down then all other participants were down too which leaves doubt for coercion and consent. She's the main focus I'd assume because she was around for most of it and could attest to the environment in these events and people's willingness to be there which would include her own.
