Can we just stop trying to normalize calling black people coons? It's gone all the way to the top where we're calling MLK a coon on MLK day. The joke has run its fucking course.

A coon thread.. on MLKs bday of all days.

Way to fuckin go @Inori

We getting to the root of the issues.

Black folk who not in the struggle feel they're better than those in the struggle. And don't want to be around them. They feel superior and often try to establish space in their actions and opinions.

But since more people are financially struggling in this economy than those who aren't... Those black people who constantly voice negative opinions about the black folk they want to distance themselves from... Come off as what many call coons.

Their stances seem anti black

My two cents

I'm not saying you're wrong, but let's be clear what you mean.

It's true that a lot of black people with means don't want to live next to poor black people, but that doesn't have anything to do with being uppity or being out of the struggle. That has everything to do with wanting to protect what you've achieved and your family. If I grew up around drugs and crime and somehow managed to escape it, why would I want to take my family right back to it? That in itself is not anti-black.

Many of those with try hard to help or pull up those without or less than.

Some people just can’t see it because they assume those “with” are talking down on them because that’s what they want to hear to justify how they see things.

And some don’t know what help looks like.

So if a person doesn’t do all they can and aren’t open to pulling their family out of this struggle, are they not just as much of a coon for knowingly allowing their family to suffer because of pride or shame?
