ehh was good, Big G was a menace and was not for the bullshit I like the other movies better but this one was good. 8/10 for me hate subtitles but apparently my theater was showing the American dubbed but I didn't realize it to after the fact
 
Just so that I'm clear, this and the joint on Apple ain't got nothing to do with the monster verse movies right?

Do I need to see anything in preparation of this and the apple joint?
 
The show on Apple is related to the MonsterVerse films. As long as you saw the Godzilla film from 2014, you should be good.

You don't have to have seen anything to watch Godzilla Minus One

No forced bonding, not a bunch of scientists getting together with a lizard expert or monarch stuff, no trying to figure out it’s origins but just a pretty endearing story about a pilot with survivor’s guilt who wanted to do right by people because he was understandably a coward multiple times

The movie had heart and you really root for the veterans at the end because of the fortitude and pride they showed after losing the war and wanting to make a difference

I went into this movie blind btw I didn’t know shit about it besides hearing about it in passing and I didn’t even know it was going to be in theaters until like last week I think

I was ready to write this off as another shin Godzilla which had potential but due to a poor budget was lacking

The CGI was a bit jarring and took some getting used to but I got over it around halfway

His crazy eyes really were funny to me

So as I go through the movie I did not like the neighbor when she found out the main character was alive because she did not react like I would expect a grieving mother to act

She came off as someone trying to act like they are an alcoholic

The writing sometimes when the main character was anguished was iffy at times but it wasn’t too bad but what WAS bad was this guy’s fucking dramatic acting lol

Holy shit man was he horrible. It’s the only part of the movie I didn’t like. All this bad stuff is happening and all he has to do is be sad but he can’t do it lol

Homie never shed a tear the entire movie

The first what? 30 mins were cool but when Godzilla used his atomic breath to destroy the battleship I was like alright I’m in

Then when he destroyed Ginza I went like

Also those reporters on the roof gotta be the stupidest people in the world lol

I really liked the cast overall namely the Captain (best actor in the movie) and scientist weapon guy (to save time I’m not including names)

The music was really good too

I’m glad I seen this

Funny enough I thought his kid was the worst actor in this shit 🤣

lol he tried to cry like 6x in the movie and he couldn’t but it wasn’t THAT noticeable because something always happened right after or the scene changed to the next one

At the end was the worst because it was a long drawn out take of him going “arghhhhhhh”

They couldn’t hide it because that part was so long lol

I was irritated with the kid passing notes around throughout the movie

pass her dad a note and a drawing of the whole family with the 😐 face
pass the neighbor the note the dad left with the 😐 face
be reunited with your mom after lord knows how long while dude trying his hardest to force a tear out his eye 😐

I was fucking around lol. Godzilla was fucking shit up to a level i haven't seen in the American Godzilla films. These American studios need to take notes....dude did it with a budget of around 15 mill lol
