I'm throwing shit at the wall but maybe stotts and dame got a little bad blood from Portland and since Dame wasn't in the plans when he was hired it's probably better for everyone if they rip the bandaid now instead of later. Stotts probably took the job thinking if it didn't work out there was an opportunity. With Dame there thats dead.

Stotts and Griffin having beef doesn't make sense.

One thing I've learned over the offseason is Dame is as much a politician as any of these other niggas.

Why give up picks and mann when you don’t NEED him

But it’s really the clippers want a guy who can primarily handle ball that’s not PG or Kawhi

Russ doesn’t meet this requirement

It’s also what IIRC what PG Specifically asked for (wanting harden)

Didn't realize James harden is 34. Not sure I'm giving up Powell, Mann, picks to make that work either. 🤷🏿‍♂️

They've mortgaged enough of their future. If they're gonna mortgage more they might want to wait it out for the best possible deal. Not certain this is the one.
