PRAISE: In this fourth Thor adventure Thor embarks on a journey unlike anything he's ever faced -- a quest for inner peace. However, his retirement gets interrupted by Gorr the God Butcher, a galactic killer who seeks the extinction of the gods.
This movie brims with comedy and actually reminded me of Flash Gordon which is a good and bad thing. I thought the entire cast did a good job for the most part including: Chris Hemsworth; Christian Bale; Tessa Thompson; Jaimie Alexander; Taika Waititi; Russell Crowe and Natalie Portman.
Once again I understood the plight of the villain and actually Gorr the God Butchers backstory playing out helped with the aforementioned.
When the movie focuses on Love and loss and the possibility of experiencing it or fighting it,the film really does a fine job of displaying it.
The SFX and CGI was really stunning. The way they used the mix of color and black and white was great.
Some of the running gags really worked and actually avoided becoming annoying. Oh and the imagery used for a couple of characters I have only seen in comics until now was pretty brilliant.
PROBLEMS: Some of the campiness and jokes in some scenes went on a bit too long.It waters down some of the more serious story threads in the movie at times. I found myself begging the movie to leave this scene and place and pick up the pace.I keep hearing a lot was cut from the movie so that may have altered how much better the movie could have been

I feel like Gorr was underutilized. Definitely needed more scenes with him. Needed scenes of him wrecking gods. The story with Thor and Jane and her dealing with cancer was the heartbeat of the film. Lotta growth for Thor in his journey in this film. Some of the humor did not hit in this. Probably rate this a 7/10. It's not Dark World levels. Far from the worst MCU film

Most of the humor wasnt hittin for me. Surprisingly the shit I thought that was gonna annoy me (The goats) made me laugh just about every time tho.
They wasssssted the fuck outa Christian Bale and Gorr for real.. shit is damn near criminal. How you gon have Gorr the GOD BUTCHER but dont showcase him butchering any fuckin gods bruh. And dude was kinda justified in doing what he was setting out to do honestly lol. They can gtfoh with that best marvel villain shit tho.
There were some good moments in here... I loved the way they were playing with color in the black & white shots.. that was excellent and those scenes reaally just strengthens my opinion that they wasted Bale in this. Dude had potential to be menacing as hell but they missed the mark.
I aint like how they played up how we thought certain characters were killed and then were just like naaaaah sike!
They should have made a connection that the aether is what gave Jane cancer

Phase 4 wasn't really goofy though. It was pretty much oar for the course when you look at other movies like shang chi and streaming series like falcon and the winter soldier. I blame the Russo's for setting the table me for goofy Thor in endgame. I think taika was building off of that.

Just got back from seeing it ehhhh it was aight. I'll give it a 7.5/10 could've been better too much comedy. I do like how they played closed to the actual story but changed it up. I'm pissed the gawd Beta Ray Bill didn't have an appearance.
