I think it would be Nicki Minaj. Without Nicki there would be no Cardi (respectfully) or Megan The Stallion. Now Without Lil Kim or Foxy there's no Nicki but for this era ? Nicki helped allow for Cardi B to exist as well as Asian Doll, Cuban Doll, Mulatto, H.E.R, Cardi B, Doja Cat, Saweetie etc. All of them take some sort of likeness from Nicki whether intentional or not, we immediately think about Nicki when we think about others.

Nicki has set records as a female artist and has grown into a pop culture icon for this generation. Her impact is felt. Whether you like her or not, she does deserve a place among this generation's rap Mt. Rushmore.

I had a conversation with a couple of bredrins the other day about this post. This is gonna raise a few eyebrows and that is fine as we are all having a discussion but IMO you cannot put Nicki over Future as far as cultural impact goes, I will go as far as throwing Chief Keef over Nicki.

Remove talent (lyricism, songwriting ability, etc)... Keef and the 'Chi-Raq' movement are responsible for a lot of lingo and style nowadays.

Nicki created a new wave for female rappers, yes, but can't compare that to a kid like Chief Keef who added a whole new flavour that both men and women in the culture are running with to this day and beyond, also birthing all kinds of variants. With that alone, he is scoring higher than Nicki IMO.

With all that being said, I think it is only right Future gets that spot. His contribution and impact from the mid-2010s were undeniable. Way beyond Nicki Minaj and Chief Keef.

Keef isn't responsible for drill music and has no albums that had a cultural impact at all. In fact Keef is a 1 hit wonder.

Nicki Minaj has sold the most albums over any other female rapper too. She has broken and set new records for entries into the billboard charts, she's also set Guinness world records.

Future has an impact but not greater or more deserving than Nicki. Can you say Future is an international cultural icon ? Who would people in China or African countries recognize first ? Nicki or Future ? The emergence of female rappers today can literally be tied to Nicki's success breaking doors down for them, this alone far outweigh Future's accomplishments. IG models getting fake asses and tits, colorful hair, tryna rap that's Nicki minaj influence. Even the rhyme style (except for Cardi) but everyone else ? Nicki got.
