I told yall about Baltimore schools. They passed me when I was in middle school though I skipped school alot. My moms had 3 jobs too (another problem with this country).
Then we moved so I could go to the white school and they was not having that shit. They made me go middle school so I could pass 8th grade.
Got to HS and had to make sure I was present and had good grades so I could pass.

You have to be in that environmemt to understand. When I was doing the same thing I was not taking school serious because the school was not serious.
Its how it was in our community, which is why most of my older relatives dropped out except for my mother. My brother and sister both had to get their GEDs and they went to Baltimore City schools too.
Me going to that white school (had minorities but it was a white school in a white community) forced me to take school serious and I actually graduated. Primary education is a HUGE problem in the black community still to this day.

It’s the schools fault when you miss 272 days and no legal intervention. That’s a cause for concern here. The school passed him three times. The entire school is trash because his gpa is in the top. How can you not blame the school?

instead of droppin me off at the front entrance, he pulled around to the back by fieldhouse/football field & asked where's my homework

These people don't understand how trash Baltimore schools are in the black community. R even if you go to school and do all the work you still not learning on the level of whites.
I still don't like math cause of black Baltimore schools. I had to bust my ass at those white schools to pass math. Its a different curriculum and resources.
We actually had gym clothes, access to a swimming pool, books and computers for every student. Baltimore city is like a third world country for the black community. I don't miss anything about it.

I think we can all agree the school is at fault. This is classic social promotion.
However, it’s ignorant to not place any responsibility on the household as well.
Three jobs or not, moms had to know her son was failing EVERYTHING. Also, there’s no way this kid really thought he was going to graduate missing an AVERAGE of nearly 70 schools days per year for all four years.

I definitely blame mom too but that school being that bad means the school was neglected on purpose. This is really in the school board.

If learning ain’t prioritized at home it damn near for sure not gon translate to the school. It’s rare as fuck.

No doubt the mother should have been morr involved but Baltimore schools for blacks is trash. He could have been passing and still not learning on a high level. Passing don't mean that you are learning. Those assignments be very simple and easy. He failed only because of his attendance.

This is not an isolated incident when it comes to Schools for blacks in Baltimore and is a part of a larger issue that has been going on for decades. This is something that I lived through and you don't have my insight.
My mom found out I was skipping school and stayed on my case callling to make sure I was going and this mother should have known, but the reason the kid was skipping is the issue here.

But as a parent. You don’t see 1 piece of paper regarding your child in 4 years all that mean is you really didn’t care.
