OPINION Foundational/FBA/ADOS vs. Black Immigrants

There are immigrants that do not understand what White Supremacy is or when it's revealed itself.
They may have had the fortune of not experiencing it in their homeland the way black people in America have.
Certain jokes, slang, and whatever else probably would not slide if they knew the true context.

Considering US black people recently required a law for a state to not discriminate against how our hair naturally grows...
How some jobs, schools, and sports still discriminate in that same way...
It's understandable black Americans feel some way about whites slumming our hairstyles.
On the other hand, it may be a situation Africans don't encounter often. If at all.

Yea. You’re wrong bruh

I have no problem with black folks going at Adele she looked dumb asf and it wack for everybody to defend her but fuck it

Wait can anyone actually speak from personal experience

I've rarely had bad experiences with black immigrants.
Several people I know personally from Nigeria/Nigerian families are solid.
And they themselves scorn the countrymen that collaborate with racists.

I have had conversations with some others that veered into Republican-lite views.
They've never revealed straight-up anti-black American sentiments, but they were suspect.

I've never heard anyone say the things you guys are sayin' non African Americans say

You can find them on Twitter, as was shown earlier.
Despite the hypocrisy of people on ABW dismissing another social media site.
Of course, it's not indicative of all, but it's clear people have such views and people out there agree.

You can check out this study as well.
Page 34 is where it gets into internalized racism from the immigrant's viewpoint.
They go into both sides as well though.

Still can’t believe black Americans was outrage about Adele indulging herself and Jamaican Culture.

like what the hell. Folks from that culture let it rock and she was respectful so why the fuck was we even voicing our opinion.
Bruh....

If Adele put black shoe polish on her face and wore a dreadlock wig and posed with a watermelon and a blunt....

And Jamaicans were cool with that....

Does that mean that black Americans shouldn’t voice their opinions?

We’re black before anything else...

Some of y’all acting like we don’t have the right to be offended if it don’t affect black Americans.

Who gives a fuck if Jamaicans were cool with it?

What Adele did wasn’t really a big deal to me, but at the same time, I don’t have an issue with black Americans accusing her of cultural appropriation.

You’re playing the what if game.

that ain’t happen so I won’t address it.

You won’t address the fact that you think no black American should ever voice their opinion about something that black folks from other countries are “cool with”?

OK.

OK.

this is anecdotal, but most jamaicans whose opinions i've seen gave no fucks. some were entertained by it.. like "gwan adele". political correctness doesn't have its hold on jamaicans like its got its hold on an leftist america. the mindset is different. and i don't think one is more enlightened than the other.

black americans can critique it all they want, it just comes off as a little "secondhand" so to speak when the very ppl whose culture is supposedly being appropriated are in large part OK with it.
