Welcome To aBlackWeb

Jay Z sells 50 percent of Ace of Spades which he bought for $30 million for $250 million to LVMH

Great money move for Jay-Z, but didn't he buy ace of spades because upscale companies like LVMH were turning their nose up at the fact hip hop artist and black folks were "sullying" their brands??
He turned Ace, and D'usse for that matter, into respectable brands without those companies. Fast forward to damn near everyone having their own brand of tequila, Jay proved his point... he's just making a return on his investment.

How we ever gonna control the narrative if we always end up selling to the others?

@DOS_patos answer this

He was smart enough to have only sold half, so I presume he still has power over his brand.
But your point is true in cases where blacks are completely bought out, giving away all control.
Folks hate to hear it, but selling our brands to non-black entities contributes to the lack of black representation.
Not that I think Jay Z really cares about all that.

It’s 50 percent.
He still has control just maybe without as much leg work.
The money can seed another more important project....
And do we really need to control alcohol?
But I get your point.

get and hold should be the plan.

This thread is a flop but I don’t think niggas can name 3-5 things

It's always amusing to me how excited some people get about other people making a lot of money.

He's already stupid rich. How much more impressive is it to make more money on top of money?
It's not only the money ,it's the entire arc of where he came from to where he is at now. He even said it himself to ASAP Ferg, he wakes up in his mansion in LA and doesn't believe the life he is living .

We drink the fuck outta certain alcohols. But on the flip side people always complained about alcohol stores all up in the hood.
Crazy huh?

but i get it.. he still is moving like a brand and he’s very aware of his image and that also helps his brand.

I had a thread like this last week. Maybe that’s why you go not many hits.

But i saying....we don’t support or go out our way to support each other. Niggas want us in a box to even consider a black owned brand.

This is what I be saying about him.

shit is crazy to see the journey.

he been making crazy chess moves but only slow niggas latch his shit to something negative.

i never understood why black people got to make all the right moves or they are apart if the problem.

Nah, I get that, but he's been rich for a long time now. I just don't see the point off celebrating every time he uses his millions to make more millions. That's what rich people do. It's basically the American way.

This is just a me thing though. I don't think anyone should be celebrated for amassing wealth.

i applaud the man ..

hes taking from them and giving to us at times. but we shouldnt expect him to save us as a race.
