POLICE unions are head and shoulders above all others when it comes to the fuckery tho imo. Its problematic.. and that typa shit needs to be addressed

I agree with you. Unfortunately its politics. The republicans have been wanting to gut public unions for a long time. Public workers represent a huge part of democratic voting bloc. People are self-interested...you think teachers in battleground states are going to put their union rights on the line to punish racist ass cops?

Thats even before you get into the legality of it all. If the police are bad at their jobs they can kill people....well so can firefighters, ems and building inspectors. Police depts have proven to be racist over time...we know thats true but you gotta prove it. Are teachers accountable if test scores in black communities are poor? Why cant a state collectively bargain with its law enforcement like it would any worker important to public health or safety?

Thats why politicians are proposing the workaround solutions instead of going at one of the real sources which are the unions.

I could be wrong tho. Its gonna take alot of political will. Police unions not being able to contribute to campaigns and making negotiations and contracts public might be a easier win.
