COMMUNITY Social Justice Thread: R.I.P. George Floyd, Ahmaud Arbery, Breonna Taylor & now Tyre Nichols

Is she selling them or something?

How is she monetizing off this?

I have my issues with her at times but looks like to me she's just wearing a shirt highlighting this guilty ass cracka.

Now is she attention seeking? Possibly
The person who made it is monetizing off of it, and at the current moment its tasteless. But she is too into her ego and looking for cool points to realize it

i'm not sure how to address this, but i think this whole things is way bigger than George Floyd at this point. I think this is about the treatment of black folks, the disparity between us and other races but I don't to take away from the fact that if it wasn't for his death in particular, we wouldn't be on what...day 5 of protests and riots?

Idk, it feels like something will actually come of this this time. I see there are opportunistic people who are just using this as a chance to attach themselves to some destruction, but there are also others who are using this to highlight the shit that continues to happen.

idk if my point is coming off like how i want it to sound but this seems like black people in general are tired of being sick and tired

Perfect storm.

Covid.........quarantine.........40 million people unemployed within 2 months.

Then Ahmad Aubrey, Breanna Taylor...........and George Floyd.

Add to that the fact that it took over a week to arrest the cop who killed him..........while the other 3 are still running around free???

Something had to give.

How you know she didn't make it though?

I can make that shirt right now with the shit I have in my crafts box.

e.g. I made this shirt after Queen and slim came out. Took 5 min

Alot of people in this thread addressed what you're saying pages ago. Lol. I even addressed this and even stated that alot of our so called "allies" in this cause aren't necessarily about our (black people's) cause.

I honestly believe if it wasn't so many people unemployed and stressed out due to COVID-19 the protesting wouldn't have gotten as big in this country as it did. If it wouldn't have gotten as big in this country then other countries around the world wouldn't have started showing some form of solidarity.

So I say that to once again point out this......... alot of this "solidarity" black people are receiving at this time I fear is false and will most definitely be used as a tool to down play other issues that this government (and the world) needs to fix to treat black people fairly. I'm willing to bet years, most likely weeks after these protests die down the same non black people who were out there protesting in "solidarity" (looting and shit) will be the same folks not offering fair hiring practices, practicing housing discrimination, etc.......

But when they are called out for their bullshit bigotry they will hide behind the guise of protesting. You can see this shit from a mile away because it's happened before

Promise I ain't bout to say this exclusively to toot my own horn..

I keep seeing alot of donate, donate, donate all over the place, like money is all that solves shit. Atlanta should be enough to show folk it's more than money.

I raise my kids with all the lessons I've accrued through the years to make sure that they apply what I teach them and that they are leaders in all endeavors they under take. I take time to hip them to the reality of events and at the same time encourage them to form their own opinions based on their own perceptions. I don't teach hatred or discrimination of others.

I'm currently in school to work to become a counselor and later a therapist where I am to work with black youth and disadvantaged black adults.

It's more than instant money, it's long term goals and the amount of effort we put into change in our own lives. Real life be the change you want to see.

Money isnt everything....but it sure as shit helps.

Holla at me in a month from now. When all this subsides and special interests (including the police union) and big corporations take over and completely outmatch these activists and community groups.

They're chess players. Content to put out statements supporting us now. Few months later watch how they ask to lower local tax rates for "recovery" and cut funding for schools and hospitals. Like i said, black people are going to pay for the stores and government buildings looted and damaged one way or another.

Thats not to say anything of these tech companies exploiting contentiousness for profit. If we're the ones oppressed, exposing, and uprising...shouldn't we get a cut of the content?

One was a unprovoked attack. The other was a reaction. You’re putting both in the same category. Basically coon talk. Save that moral shit for others.

That's just the brainless way you're choosing to look at it. Everything the Latin Kings are doing is in direct response to the looting and the destruction.

To me both incidents were wrong. You just want to try and find a way to justify your hypocrisy, and the best you can come up with is calling simple logic coon talk.

What are you arguing right now?

Cause I'm arguing

That its tasteless to wear the face of a murderer on a shirt in your trek to trader Joe's just to provoke anger from white folks..

Tell the Latinos that were cowardly attacking INNOCENT black people that it’s wrong to attack innocent people. FOH with that eye for an eye makes the world blind bullshit.
