They tend to be the ones who can talk a good game and kiss up to the managers and other higher--ups.


Going to lunch with them, hanging out with them outside of work, making small talk about the family, etc.

That's because it's a very common mistake during the hiring process. Tho its known, thst one high-achiever can demotivated other basic employees because they feel like they cant keep up. Need both kinds in the workplace, high achievers and people who go to work to socialize.
