Its crazy that I'm seeing fans being blamed for artists not making money, or getting ripped off in the music business. Record companies really managed to shift the blame to the consumers.

Streaming and online downloading started not even 20 years ago. And I'm willing to bet all that 'lost revenue' is all theoretical sales they're pushing to inflate the number. Most the people bootlegging wouldnt of necessarily bought the record anyway, or they would of had someone who had a hard copy make a copy at home. Cant tell me people werent making copies of tapes in the 80s and 90s.

Like another poster said, this is a bunch of free press. People are buying and playing their old songs again after this shit. BabyFace had under a million followers before the start of that IG live (I wanna say it was like 800k). Before it was even over, he crossed a million followers on IG. Stop acting like they arnt getting something out of this.

He was a teeny boper artist. They made him and marketed him to young girls. So idk about self made.

But I do know he was on MTV cribs, talking spicy and showing off a bunch of cars he rented for that episode.... And back in the day, my homie repod his lambo he had in miami, that he was trying to hide in someones backyard.
