"All you need is 80 degree heat", meanwhile the human body is 97/98 degrees on average...

These people are scared by what they don't understand and because they don't know what to do, they create shit like this to grasp to because they can't stand the feeling of floating in a sea of uncertainty.

Its the containement strategies doggy. There are experts in how to contain a disease that draw up these estimates based on real world data. So they looking at when they locked the country down, how successful the lock down has been, then tracking how the virus spreads and come up with realistic estimates.

Kind of like how they said NY would hit the peak right around now and NY has actually had their number of cases and deaths starting to show a decrease. Still a ton of people dying and getting sick, just the pattern of the next day being worse than the last might finally be broken.

Lets hope it stays that way

So what's next?

Mass vaccines mixed with those who are immune to create herd immunity?

Or just wait for all the sick to die until the vaccine comes?

Vaccines take a long time to first find the right one, then test it, but mostly to mass produce it. So vaccines gonna take a while before they are ready.

My guess is corona is just gonna be a reality like the flu is going forward. In a year or two, we'll have over the counter medicines to treat corona like the flu. Every winter mfers will have to take the flu and corona shots.

Im hoping this will be ready by next winter, but thats hard to tell. So 2021 we might live with the fear of it happening again, but by 2022 this will be an after thought.

i saw they said Ny has dipped but over a very short time period.. a day... i wouldnt read that much into that.. after all there are test out their still being processed
 
I get people are dying at a high clip so speed is necessary but I hope these companies dont rush through a vaccine that ends up having a ton of side effects.

Theres that conspiracy of HIV being a side effect of the polio vaccine that was tested in chimps and then people in the Congo. Shit was in the late 50s, early 60s. Not sure how true this is since there are now blood samples tracing aids back to 1920s but thats another topic.

Either way, wether by design or just by fault, medicines could have terrible side effects. Especially the first ones to come out.

Word man. Just looking for any type of positive news to cling too.

Cases around the world have been slowing down, but the US is behind alot of countries. And some states in the US are like a month behind NY. Hard to really call it.

Me neither. Wont get a corona shot either. Im young and healthy. A flu shot is more for older people, people with conditions, and people with young kids. Corona shot will probably be the same.
 
I dont think people can conceive how things will change because of anxiety, fear, uneasiness in the coming months/years

the new normal is going to be different

sports. who is running to jam into places where you really dont have to be.. i mean everything socially will be greatly impacted

I dont see any of this happening. I see a year of paranoia after this whole thing settles, then business back as usual.

I mean even now people are having house parties. You see them pictures at that fish market thats being posted.

I think the idea of this "new normal" are just overblown. its just not how human nature works. Unless there is a continued threat. Imo anyway.

Lets just hope govts around the world learn from it and are more prepared for the next one. Cause the US being prepared wont be enough. All the developed countries need a concrete plan and ways they will work together to make sure the next big one doesnt get this big.

that will no doubt exist but reticence will be on the top of alot of peoples minds

oh and companies will no doubt use this to undercut the working class... which was going to happen anyway but at an accelerated rate

didnt you say one of you folk had to go back to the bench for testing and r&d?
if you dont mind...what company....i worked with most major pharma in the states.

but uh....im not so sure about the time you speaking about. unless the repurpose which is what they are testing for now.
