Phonte Says He Created "Rap Singing", Not Drake

I'm just trying to see examples of Drake's music sounding like Phonte's. I can play a Chris Brown song that sounds like an old MJ song, I can do that with Miguel and Prince , etc. Show me a Phonte song that sounds like a Drake song.

Anyway you chop it, that Phonte post is crazy lol

2004 - Phonte and Nicolay drop The Foreign Exchange "Connected" album and lays the foundation








2008 - Phonte and Nicolay drop The Foreign Exchange "Leave it All Behind". It was nominated for a Grammy that year.

I don't understand the significance of selecting Find Your Love for comparison when it was no where near being Drake's first foray into singing.

But since you mention collabs mean nothing... here's another.



Man won his first songwriter of the year award In 2011 and dedicated it to Kanye West, Andre 3000 and Phonte for "inspring him". He has literally said Phonte is a main influence for him his entire career long.

Yeah but we don't have documented Drake collabs, in the plural, post success attempted collabs, mimicked flows, mimicked singing and multiple awards show shoutouts of Joe Budden now do we?

Has Drake shouted Joe Budden out on a song like he did Little Brother on The Fear?

I saw that to say Drake has named a ton of niggas as his influence. Instead of trying to live of w.e influence Phonte feels he has on Drake's career, he needs to apologize to 9th and revive his career.
 
I have yet to hear one song that sounds like Drake from Phonte lol That shit 5th posted sounds NOTHING like Drake.
