At least A Tribe Called Quest or Nas Album Done didn’t make the finals.
 
We got pretty much every year of the 90s correct. 2000s came and everything went to shit.

East coast niggas stopped fuckin with commercial shit cuz the east wasn't on top anymore. The hiphop nerd niggas mainly listened to underground shit and now we're here with ridiculous finals like this.

If the commercial songs are weaker it's no surprise that album cuts or less popular songs are winnin'.

I haven't voted in this tournie since it was on like 10 for this exact reason.

That's 2 different comparisons.

The 2000s singles not being as good as the 90s doesn't mean the 2000 singles aren't better than the underground bullshit being picked.

The 80s singles aren't as good as the 90s, does that mean we should do away with 80s singles? That doesn't make sense .

I didn't see underground shit beatin' dope singles durin' the 90s or 00s rounds.

I'm not arguin' a single can't be the best song. I'm sayin' the quality of modern singles is very low, which is why people don't vote for them.

I don't kno' if it's fair to say the South still runnin' shit when everyone's singles sound the same, irrespective of region, but imo it's not pertinent.

The trap sound is a south sound and that sound is running commercial music and it's not a coincidence the songs in the OP dont have that sound.


YALL think singles in the 2000s have very low quality, that's my point. Niggas is stuck in the 90s.
