Welcome To aBlackWeb

What up King/Queen......smh lol

If uplifting titles make you feel a negative
way or if it's a mockery to you then you don't think highly about yourself or your people.

Lack of self esteem maybe... Maybe a lil self hatred...

The bigger issue/question is why do you think less of yourself like that to the point that an uplifting title bothers you? And more importantly, what are you gonna do to change that weak-minded mentality? Cuz it's not a good look. It's weak-minded.
They come from the same people who believe the bible is infallible but will reject the idea that they are gods despite the multiple times in that same bible says that they are gods and children of gods.

The assertion by the Nation of Islam that, "the black man is god" was seen as revolutionary, blasphemous, and ridiculous by society when Elijah Muhammad first said it.

The idea that the black woman is god is dismissed as black feminism and a simp's calling card.

And I don't think the black posters here are aware of the fact that the "we wuz kangz" meme was created and propagated by racists who think that black people with a historic sense of self worth is oxymoronic to the point of humor.

You don't want to be gods. You don't want to be kings. But you have no viable alternative to the destructive titles placed on your people. You've been every nigger, bitch, whore, porch monkey, coon, jungle bunny, spear chucker, and pickaninny under the sun but you draw the line a term meant to signal respect?

I said not all the time but it has happened. Everything else you asked has been answered. Idk why you keep pressing the issue I don’t like it end of story.

I'm just seeking clarity. I like to understand the root cause of things. There's a reason you don't like being called "Queen" and I respect that, but I wanna know why? I'm curious like that.

I've been hearing the word "namaste" for years but I just recently learned that it means "the god in me sees the god in you". That's such a powerful perspective and greeting. I think it would be big if we create our own version of namaste or that perspective cuz in my better moments the god in me does see the god in you. It's something I hope everyone experiences often in their lifetimes.

I wanna put namste in my lexicon but when I say it, it doesn't feel like my own. The meaning of namaste resonates with me way more than the word does.

Not all the time.

I understand what @Love is saying.

Some people who say it are being condescending and/or lowkey sarcastic.

Basically "acting" like they're complimenting you, yet........at the same time.......thinking you're too oblivious to realize that they're not really complimenting you at all.

It's not a compliment just an acknowledgement that we both black in this world that is against us

Guilty as charged - I fa sho call every Black woman I'm cool with "Queen"...

...put the personal spin on it too like "Queen {their name} The {adjective describing their personality}."

Got called out by a white co-worker one time on some, "why don't you ever call me 'Queen' like you do Amanda?"

Sit this one out, Gretchen...

...mind ya business. :sayword:

I remember my Rastafarian friends use to say king and queen 10+ years ago.

Thats when I first heard it.
