Ohhh so it was Puff's popularity that made American Gangster sound like that? I see.

It was his brand that changed the sound of multiple genres, who knew.

U mean like the entire 90s?

Show me a production credit from Puff that DOESN'T have one of these names attached to it.

Over the years a lot rof adio rap head confuse being a great A&R/ executive with being a great producer.

""He made such&such careers....""
He had industry connections, and tobd of money for payrola so you can hear certain artist songs plsyed on the radio 30 freakin' times a day.

Puff wasn't even EP on the album, Jay and LA Reid was

Even with the songs Puff 'produced', it was also along with Hitmen lol. Fix ya title and the votes may sway in ya favor

Is his name under Producer or not? Yall niggas trying to redefine what a producer is. Foh.

Anybody can make a fuckin beat. THere's a difference between making a beat and producing a record.

Sean C & LV of The hitmen produced the songs on AG

The Hitmen is a production house that Puff has that signs ACTUAL Producers so Puff gets a co-prod whenever they produce a beat for someone. Which is why his name is there for every beat THEY produce.

Cut this shit out Goldie

Regardless of what he did or didn't behind the boards
Ya'll associating commercial "hits" and how many times you hear a song on the radio with greatness, skill & talent

If anything Diddy was a great detriment to hip hop production & it's creativeness. Particularly an the art of sampling.

I wont place it ALL on his shoulders but there is no doubt he is the forebear of watering down hip hop production and "bending the knee" of making it more accessible to the masses.
When the masses should have accepted the art for what it was.
Yeah he made untold million$ But at what cost? Hip hop has yet to fully recover.

You still don't know the difference between a beatmaker and a producer, but i forgive u.

If I came off disrespectful these last few pages, I apologize. You know I love yall niggas, just passionate about hiphop.

There was a time hip hop music when the ""beatmaker"" was the producer.
It was simple as that

Wasn't til Diddy came a long treating hip hop music like R&B music did all this confuse and ying&yang started about beatmakers vs. producers

And he did this solely as a business move to collect points(money) on the publishing of the songs made by the actaully producers AND song writers (as hint to above)
