Sheffield Wednesday striker Fernando Forestieri banned for SIX GAMES - and fined £25,000 - having been found guilty of using racist language in friendly against Mansfield last season


Sheffield Wednesday forward Fernando Forestieri has been handed a six-game ban after being found guilty of using the N-word during a pre-season game in 2018.

The Football Association has dished out the suspension following an investigation into the incident that occurred between the Argentinian, whose first language is Spanish, and Mansfield Town player Krystian Pearce during a pre-season game in July 2018.

A report released by the governing body on Wednesday revealed Forestieri is alleged to have called Pearce a 'n*****' during a confrontation.

Kieran Trippier reveals he is having Spanish lessons five days a week as he takes opposite approach to Gareth Bale in Madrid... who still can't speak the language after SIX YEARS at Real


Kieran Trippier has vowed to learn fluent Spanish and revealed he is taking lessons five days a week in a bid to settle in as quickly as possible at his new club AtleticoMadrid.
The 28-year-old fulfilled a long-term ambition to play abroad when he sealed his £20million move from Tottenham to the La Liga giants earlier this summer.

'My priority is to speak Spanish. I want to be involved with the players and the coach to understand more,' he told ESPN.
'I've got a teacher in Madrid and it's five days a week for two hours a day so maybe in a month or two, we can have this interview speaking Spanish.'

I think it's bad on both sides (people coming UK not speaking English) and vice-versa.
If you go to live and work abroad on a consistent basis for at least 2 years in a particular country, then no excuses, you should be able to have a intermediary grasp of the language to the point that you can have regularly communication in that language with people, be able to read the newspaper, understand 70% of a local TV program e.g. news, sitcom etc

I've seen comments suggest Antonio Valencia doesn't speak English but I refuse to believe that as he was United's captain. Any United fans can confirm?

He is unwanted by Madrid.
He is called ‘The Golfer’ by his teammates.
He can’t speak the language.
He was ready to give up challenging football for the money in China.
He didn’t step up when Ronaldo left.
He doesn’t try hard enough to get back fit when injured.

At this stage what does he have to prove he achieved probably more than he ever thought and in those champion league finals he was mvp not Ronaldo going China isn't a issue not like he planned on going in his peak

He is learning the language, not comfortable speaking it. Learning a new language at an older age is not easy. A large amount of Dominicans and Puerto Rican’s here in Baseball go through the same problem. They don’t get demonized.... I live in Texas, I have tried to learn Spanish for the past 20 years, he speaks it better than me.

Ronaldo is one of the best players of all time. One player can not fill his shoe. When healthy, Bale is still a productive player. But u can’t expect him to be Ronaldo.

U can’t just say ALL FACTS and we take your word for these things. Bale’s sin is he gets injured a lot. That sucks. But to demonize him for this and make shit up is stupid.
