OPINION You don't need to use AI when a simple Google search will suffice

I know a lot of people have lost that sense of community. The "well, it's not directly impacting me so, I don't care that much", but we have got to start moving with a sense of urgency.

It's no coincidence the places they choose for these datacenters and an overwhelming majority of people are using AI for bullshit anyway.

They are trying to put one in a similar community in the parish I currently live in which will be close to the Mississippi River.

 
People using AI to make work out plans, meal plans, grocery lists, schedules to play with their kids... Bullshit

All this shit is a Google search but then ask yourself why the fuck you need something to help you play with your kids

A lot of this shit used to be word of mouth within communities. I got a homeboy that works out? Let me ask him what he eats. Or better yet, he's a trainer, let me ask him for some advice. You didn't need to ask no damn ai this shit

The counter is AI has access to more data than your communities. It's basically expanding your sample size

Does it or is it simply serving as a hub for information that's already out there?

Or are you referring to things like, it can generate images cause people keep giving it pics of themselves?

Isn't that the same thing? It's basically doing an advanced deep dive internet search and checking everything in seconds. You can ask someone in your neighborhood but you're technically limiting your data pool
 
I haven't created an account and done the more advanced things you can do. I've had it do comparisons on products and reviews to help me decide which was the better buy. I've had it help create scripts

Instead of searching for something and clicking and reading on numerous links for some info.. you can just ask AI and it does all that work in a shorter amount of time

We're on the same page

I guess what I'm trying to get across is, using the buddy that works out as the example. I can physically/visually see their results. Also factoring in genes, body types, etc... The issue is just trying to get started, so who better to ask than them? Or a simple regular Google search which has been curated to present to you the top search results within the first 1-3 pages

People are bypassing this to ask AI to the detriment of communities. Or, instead of either self teaching or hiring someone to do art, you give the task to AI, to the detriment of communities where these centers are located

I understand the convenience, and it's usefulness for things like this, but at what ultimate cost? At some point, unless this bubble bursts soon like people are predicting, more centers will be popping up and they will start putting in places where people think "this will never happen to where I live"

What do you mean ultimate cost and bubble bursting?

Really the only thing I don't like is the data collecting "for personalized experience" and then selling/trading/sharing that data. I also hate that you need to opt out of data collecting and sharing instead of needing to opt in for that personalized experience. There's also some data they just won't let you opt out of but this is all a different topic lol

I can't parent every child on the planet. As I said. This is your grumpy old man hill. Nothing will stop this from growing. No matter how hard you or I limit our individual children. There's an entire generation of 30,20 year old who can give a fuck less and will continue.

Let's approach it from this pov that you are just 1 parent. If every 1 parent shared the same sentiment as you, that's how you get billions of parents all believing them restricting their children won't matter in the grand scheme of things

You want it to be one way, but it's the other.

This is something that 100% absolutely will grow. Literally every day we see it evolving.
