Shawn Michaels caused far worse and went on to redeem himself. Imagine not bringing back Shawn in 02 because of his past drama and him being a complete dick then.....
Point still being he can make things right as long as he alive and they are willing to push it. Even that peice of shit Ultimate Warrior made amends.

Storyline reason = Santos jumped and injured him last nite on Smackdown and Dragon Lee stepped in to stop him
Reality = These niggas probably knew that if there was a match where CM Punk chants could break out, it would be Santos tryin to get 10-15 minutes out of washed Carlito. Better to put Dragon Lee in that spot and have these niggas have a lucha classic that the audience will fuck with
and he's the only one fully bundled up while the rest of them trying to hold it together in their simple blazers and sweaters lol
