That's 10 Classics


If you just counted the first 10 albums I listed, you might think they're The GOATs. Those albums are certified classics. I could make a Double CD of their stuff from 93-97 and it would bang harder than anybody else from that era (even Pac and Big).

But if we're being honest with each other, those are the only 10 Wu Tang albums you need to hear. All of the individual members have a gang of solo albums but, and correct me if I'm wrong, their best work was from 93-97. They were on fire in the mid/late 90s. They even had a song on every soundtrack in that era. In my opinion, Ghostface has the best solo albums.

There's other groups like Tribe, The Roots, Gang Starr, NWA that have a better dope-to-nope ratio. Groups that might have less albums, but less duds.

I guess what I'm trying to say is that quality>quantity.

Does Wu Tang's duds take away from their greatness? I kinda feel like after 2000 they were like MJ on The Wizards.

On top of that you acting like only the albums on your little list are good, but that's not close to true.

Ghost's whole catalog is solid. Rae has OB4CL2, SvW, and The Wild, which are all good albums. Meth has 4:21. And so on and so on.

You named Gangstar, Roots, and NWA, but every single one of those groups has albums on the level of the albums that you consider "Nopes" for the Wu.

I ain't even saying anyone has to believe that the Wu is the best, but your reasoning for saying they aren't is flawed. By your own count, they have more classics than some Hip Hop collectives have albums altogether.

But in that same token you’re sayin’ The Wu has more hits than any other group too….

So would you rather be a group wit’ only 2 albums but they’re both classic albums or a group wit’ 40 albums but 10 are classic??

Honestly, I think they have more than 40 albums.

If I had to guess I'd estimate closer to 100 albums.
