OPINION Worst Rapper With a Classic Album?

Hammer was polarizing...he wasn't unanimously considered a joke...he couldn't have lasted as long as he did....dont let curated commentary misrepresent his moment

Hell, 2 Live Crew was polarizing as well if we wanna take it there....but history doesn't present them like hammer for some reason

Polarizing is one thing.

Saying bcuz he sold 10 million albums means it's a classic is fukn dumb.

if Get Rich or Die Tryin can be (despite it aging horribly), why can't Hammer?

I'm not even the biggest 50 fan by any measure but to say it aged horribly, like nigga what?! The only song I wouldn't listen to is Wanksta/In Da Club because of what mainstream yts did to it but literally almost every other track bangs to this day

50 cent-grodt
let me just add that when i said grodt
i was speaking on true classics like ob4cl, infamous, illmatic, reasonable doubt, tribe, outkast, death certificate, ready to die, etc etc

true classics
of all those i think fifty is the worst rapper ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

if i knew shit like mc hammer and soulja boy had “classics” i obviously wouldn’t have said fifty cent

Understood

But that wasn't my position

And as arbitrary as the "classic" designation is used, Hammer is just as if not more eligible than damn near everyone mentioned in here.

I see some have lost their minds in this thread...

Also the definition of "classic" may need to be explained.

& that's the thing about it

do you have to like the album to consider it classic?

can an album be a classic if you don't like it?

it's all subjective anyways
