Franklin s run went from 82-83 to 89
 
Walt only got into it so his family wouldn't be burdened after he died. He did end up getting greedy in the end but all his moves were for his family that ended up not wanting him

Also for the cancer treatment. He rejected the offer from the friend because he felt it was a pity offer and his ego wouldn't allow it

He also had regrets that he left when the company was smaller
