Why is supporting black owned businesses so difficult sometimes?

I can't remember what food spot I was trying to go to back then, so I guess i did stop fuckin with them. Switched barber shops too (to a different black owned one. Way more professional... love that place).

1) Not every area has good black owned options.
2) A lot of black businesses are more expensive because they don't get the perks on the back end that other business owners get.
3) Some black businesses are just shitty because the bank on having other black people as built-in clienele. For example, Tyler Perry doesn't actually have to improve his movies if he's always going to make a lot of money from black people supporting by default.

Speaking for myself. It's convenience and pricing. I don't buy shit that's over priced, and I'm not going to wildly inconvenience myself to purchase something.

If a black owned business had a convenient method of purchase, and reasonable prices.... I'd easily support.

I go out of my way to support black businesses. I give them a lot of grace because a lot of them don’t have legacy or mentors in whatever space they’re operating in like white people. They trying to figure it out from scratch.

It is frustrating though when they not doing it right because I know they not going to be around long.

Black businesses that aren't food or clothes related are fine and actually preferable. Food and clothes spots are usually rough experiences but there are some diamonds in the rough.

You gonna hit Movement or any of the pre/after parties while you're out there?

Fam, I didn't know that was going until you told me. I looked up the lineup & see that it'll be a dope event. I'll most definitely can attempt the Saturday or Sunday event if I can squeeze by that. I know Friday I gotta slide out to Ohio. We might be out there until Saturday evening tho. When I get to the city. My friend, she be having me on go as soon as I hit the city. She really be mapping out everything. I just be there so I won't get fined (Marshawn Lynch voice) lol

Welp...

The homie that posted this on FB had a comment saying the customer service ain't great ("leaves something to be desired" was the exact phrase used). I hear that a lot about Black owned food establishments. The few that I've ever walked into were ok as far as customer service goes.

Heard something the other day that I didn't realize until I heard it but it seems an overwhelming amount of black owned business try to run their shit like the dope game

-Trying to always flip the flip
-Treating customers like fiends who will come to you no matter how you treat them
-everything is fast paced, no attention to detail or care for the customer
- always trying to upcharge on shit and think people just supposed to be ok with it just cause it's "black owned"
