I should have said, Their military is limited in size so they would have a difficult time taking over.

Part of the unconditional surrender agreement was that we (the US) would limit the size of their military. Also we (the US) have a military base in Japan.
 
this is not the most famous person i met, but one day i was waiting for my order from a taco truck then i look to my left and also waiting for his tacos was Jamie Hector aka Marlo from the Wire.

i said something like “i gotta give Omar the drop…” and then we talked about the show a little bit. he was cool and took a pic. nh

this was back in like 2011.

I’ve met a few different comedians and artist over the years mostly hanging out around that particular town after shows.

I don’t do the whole camera in the face/autograph bs mainly just chop it up for a few minutes and give them their props and have a quick genuine conversation. To many people geek out and idolize celebrates like their a god and not another human… thats not me.
 
Spike Lee

I met him during a screening of Chi-Raq in NYU. Then afterwards he did a meet and greet. Chopped it up with him about how he inspired me as an artist, the gentrification of Brooklyn and the Nets😂 Then I gave him a copy of my masters thesis which to this day is the only copy of that shit. It was a publication I created & designed myself about black artists & figures I found important to American history (he was one of them) Mans had that big ass Spike Lee smile when he saw himself in there.

Funny enough I would meet him again a little over a year later at his Prince party in Brooklyn and this time wasn’t so pleasant but mans was drunk as shit lol

Apparently Christian Wood and I share a great grandparent. I don't know him nor his family though. One of my cousins called me when he was playing for Houston and was like "hey that's our cousin, we have the same great grandmother." Crazy how he became a Laker shortly after.

The funniest story I have is unexpectedly bumping into white "reggae" singer Snow of "Informer" fame.

A few years ago, Snow made a bit of a comeback recording some songs with reggaeton artists which resulted in a huge international hit with Daddy Yankee called "Con Calma" (a bit of a latin flip on his original "Informer" track). I was in Medellin, Colombia up the hill in one of the most dangerous barrios with some associates hanging out at this small hole in the wall club. In walk a bunch of local reggaeton artists (who I didn't recognize but my Colombian connects did) who came over to our table and start dapping everybody up. My eyes catch eyes with a white boy in a black hoody and I'm like "Snow? T-dot represent...". His eyes went wide and he looked a bit shook how I recognized him. I preceded to shout out a rival neighbourhood from Toronto where I grew up (he grew up in Allenbury Gardens) but I said it is all good when were down here in Colombia to put him at ease. Snow actually earned his stripes in the late 80s in the streets believe or not (even serving some jail time despite that hilarious Jim Carrey sketch mocking him) but he was definitely looking out of his element in Medellin.

In case you think this story is "Duck Tales", you can see a video from earlier that day on his Instagram where he is at a rooftop party in Medellin with a bunch of local artists performing some sort of cypher while he nods his head in the background (it won't let me upload it here for some reason). He is not a huge celebrity but it is a weird coincidence meeting someone who grew up around the corner from me in the most unlikely location...
