This is a dumb argument. MJ was the King of Pop. This nigga made Amazing music that was 100 percent crossover shit that appealed beyond language...no one knew what that nigga was saying in the majority of his songs and it was fine because of the melody. Kendrick got up there and rapped.

Grown white men cried to see Michael perform. Grown white men are calling their 7 years olds nigga lovers for rapping NLU. This ain't the same.

I am not trying to take away from either of these niggas but this is Apple's and Oranges.

lol and that’s what this is all about.

If I was screaming ovo hoe, ice would be my bff.

And he picked Cole. That’s what’s so nutty about all this.

Looks like more ppl tuned into the halftime show than the game
This is hilarious.

Imma just say this and try to be done with it.

If this much of the world is watching and talking about a RAPPER in 2025... I'm glad it's Kendrick and that performance.....

I mean, could you imagine if 130 million people were talking about some of these other niggaz

ROFL...

Absolutely nobody is ever saying Kendrick show was better than Mike's..... That's blasphemy

But being the most watched this quickly is definitely an achievement. I'm honestly positive nobody gets that kinda controversial response in this short of a time other than Kendrick with all the imagery and pageantry of his performance. It work. It got the reactions, the views, the discussion.

As a rapper, performer... He did his job. His show is the most watched ever. Kendrick delivered.

It be one thing if NOBODY watched... But that's not the case. Everybody watched and everybody talking. Again he did his job.

MJ ( rest in peace ) performed the Superbowl in 1993. Nigga in 93 y'all had like 4 channels.
lol wouldn’t that make KDot numbers more impressive?
I'm not saying it's more or less impressive. I'm saying those metrics don't take a lot into account.

Advertisement was more effective in the 90s. You couldn't just hop on YouTube...there was no ad blockers. Your black ass sAt there and waited for a commercial break to end. Ad time had an impact. At the same time there are more options for entertainment today. You don't have to take a car ride to blockbuster. Those metrics for Kendrick don't take into account how many people watched the Superbowl on stolen streams ( how I watched it). This isn't a 1 for 1 conversion.

Edit* another point. The amount of screens per household has more than doubled since 93. There were 1 or 2 screens per household in the 90s. In 2025 add the fact that everyone walks around with a personal screen in their pocket.
