These last few days have been bure jokes

but lets just shove them to the side and put our grown up hat on for one second:

Elzo, you mean to tell me if you were being cheated out of a 600-700 million dollar deal because you are having a bad season by power players who dont really want you to win, you wouldn't take it court?

Man fuck public perception and what's hip-hop and what's not at that point. Every last one of you are got-damn liars if you wouldnt fight. Did Drake bring this upon himself by creating enemies and giving people his ass to kiss long the way? Sure, but it further proves the point of people not wanting him to win because it'll only make him more powerful.

I can answer this frankly once it’s established that that is what transpired

Its all allegations right now

Which is what Drake and his team are trying to uncover , this action is for them subpoenaeijg docs from UMG they hope support their claims

But I keep asking niggas if they can tell me what’s Drake s endgame and all I keep hearing is Drake is taking on the system lol

OK fair... and yes you are right, speculations are high. But if what is being reported is true, then Drake has every right to fight IMO

Can't lose badly to a rap battle and be forced on all fours getting fucked behind the scenes (pause) because of it at the same time

But honestly Drake is the cash cow

What would a company who has already given him and recouped 400 million get by tarnishing his rep forever

Controlling and trying to humble him comes to mind

He been propping up his chest to execs and running around like he's the best thing since slice bread + he's proven to recoup 400 million quickly, so giving him 600+ only makes him more powerful and have a bigger market share

So if any of that is true, this year would be the best time for UMG to take that approach

Do they still need him? Maybe, but don't want to give him half of a billion+ so that he can continue to give his ass to kiss

Idk I don’t see it that way I think what happened is a mix of Drake s hurt feelings ( he feels like they should have blocked the record) and UMG usual record promotion practices

But we ll see when it plays out until then

The boy is getting clowned lol

Lol, for sure the jokes are gonna linger for a while and I'm sure Drake is fully aware that the optics are against him like crazy. But like I said, put anyone in that position, they'd do the same if not worse (assuming the allegations are true)

His claims only make sense to me if they are trying to justify not giving him what he worked hard for all because he's having a bad year, other than that, then I think it's a very stupid move to make

The thing is if it goes the defamatory route to avoid responsibility they may be forced to Kendrick into validate the content of Not Like Us

That’s what they mean by having to sue Kendrick

In this route the label will argue that their job is not to monitor the content of their artist but to push and promote it if the content is deemed defamatory and damaging u gotta take it up with him not us

Is it defamatory if all they have to say is " well drake said from his own mouth in the song all the info came from him." Like is it defaming to repeat something you said about yourself
 
Drake is obviously banking on the old adage that white folks and old black folks that hate hip hop use to kick, “you obviously only listen for the beat”
