What you're seeing is people who hate Drake more than they like Kendrick. So they're going extra hard to try and prove how much they like him and his music by giving it this mythical status. The overcorrection isn't coming from Dot fans it's coming from drake haters

This is an element of it that is true. I also think that hip hop culture isn't winning in any of this because the culture isn't even being run by "Us"

Niggas are letting corporations draw lines in rap beef in the name of hip hop culture all because they hating on Drake. It would be hilarious as fuck if it wasn't so sad.

I said at the beginning of this beef that niggas are overlooking the music and only focusing on the moment. The whole idea of this "moment "is built on a weak foundation though.

Is the moment about taking hip hop back from culture vultures because how is Drake, the niggas who has been running the game for the last 15 years a culture culture now, all of a sudden?

Or is the moment about elevating blackness within hip hop but niggas have been glorifying the absolute worst shit about hip hop culture for years now why would a beef between Kendrick Lamar and Drake have any bearing on that?

The whole issue with this moment and culture talk is that it cannot be explained because it's all bullshit.

This beef is rooted in jealousy which Kendrick admitted himself but niggas tried to twist Kendrick's literal words and make it into some fight for the hip hop culture when the only thing that has happened is, once again niggas have been bamboozled by the same entities that they accuse of stealing and capitalizing off of hip hop culture and made to look like fools again.

too dense and winding of a convo for me to fully engage with

but yea this "the culture " shit throw me off when all this shit is dictacted and curated by white capital

i enjoy alot of this shit too but we shouldn't be tryna "find" ourselves in shit we're moreso subjected to than controlling

According to Rick Ross, this was always about control. Drake positioned himself to have an impressive amount of control and influence over hip hop culture. Niggas were not only hating on him for that but the proceeded to try and tear him down like Drake though that he was too big to fail or something which I don't think was the case.

When the details about Drake's $400M deal got out and he alluded to being the "boss of these niggas" that's when you saw the real motivation behind this beef. They (including a bunch of artist that depended on Drake in some form or fashion) were hating on him for gaining the access and power that he quite frankly earned after more than a decade of dominance, and they tried to humble him.

@Los216 talk to these niggas bruh! 🫡🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥

Don't want a Canadian half-breed to say the word nigga but get a drug addict Spanish dude to say he don't want his daughter to be with a black man

I think some niggas who hopped on did it out of jealousy. I think with Kendrick though he genuinely doesn't like Drake and what he represents which is this stuck in your late teens/early 20s mentality that's plagued rap. I've said it before we are just now getting to a point where folks actually want to hear and see rappers progress and grow older in their music. And Drake has been stuck at 25 for far too long. I think the most poignant lyric in this entire battle is "We see the "boy" but where is the man at". That sentiment has been bubbling in rap for a bit now and Drake became the face of it with his last few albums.

There's other factors as well like Drake immaturity pissing off his female fan base among other things but Drake did himself no favors the last couple years with how he was moving around

I don’t see nothing wrong with someone wanting their daughter to date within their race… I have a daughter and I prefer her to date, marry, and procreate with a man that looks like me… But at the end of the day I’m going to love my daughter regardless who she fuck with…
