If we were talking about singers, you cant just say the better singer was the one that sold more albums. More albums make you more popular, not better. This is why it needs to be more specific.

For over a decade now, any rapper signed to a big major, i never believe their sales numbers or radio plays. Because majors can just buy that. Drake an drop a mediocre song right now and you'll hear it everywhere because they're going to be told to play it regardless if anyone requests it or not.
