Fuckin Problems single was released to radio November 27th 2012 and was on Rocky’s album that was released in 2013.

I don’t deny GKMC being an instant classic, because I absolutely agree with that opinion. I also don’t deny Swimming Pools and Recipe obtaining multi-platinum status.......OVER TIME.

In 2012, which is what we’re discussing in this thread, Kendrick was not MVP. His impact that year was not on the level of Future, Rick Ross, or 2 Chainz.

2013 is an entirely different story.

None of the niggas u mentioned put up better #s than kendrick in 2012. Nor did they put out a better album. It's not close.

In the year 2012....Not years later after most of us have designated Kendrick as a GOAT.

The key is for everyone to take themselves back to the year 2012, then relive what they were listening to at that point in time.

I still have not even had a desire to listen to any Kendrick Lamar pre-GKMC. There are many many more that are the same way. Most hip hop listeners don’t type on message boards like we do.

But we’re supposed to give our opinions and feelings concerning 2012 rap music.

If we were only going by numbers, someone like Post Malone will end up being crowned the MVP one of these years.

Looking back to 2012 from 2018, of course none of them made a bigger impact on hip hop in 2012 than Kendrick.

In the year 2012 as shit was happening, Kendrick did not have a bigger impact than 2 Chainz, Rick Ross, or Future.

We’re not judging off sales, lyricism, or overall quality of music. We’re judging specifically off of “Who ran 2012?”, and the streets were lit up with hit songs from Future, Ross, and Chainz.
