You're talkin about your circle of friends and their opinions, I'm talkin about facts fam.

None of that shit u posted was bigger than swimming pools, SP was a 4x plat song. Recipe was a plat single. He was also on "fuckin problems", that was a 3x plat single, etc.

The #s speak for themselves. Then on top of that, he dropped an album where most people called it an instant classic. There's really no debate.
Fuckin Problems single was released to radio November 27th 2012 and was on Rocky’s album that was released in 2013.

I don’t deny GKMC being an instant classic, because I absolutely agree with that opinion. I also don’t deny Swimming Pools and Recipe obtaining multi-platinum status.......OVER TIME.

In 2012, which is what we’re discussing in this thread, Kendrick was not MVP. His impact that year was not on the level of Future, Rick Ross, or 2 Chainz.

2013 is an entirely different story.

None of the niggas u mentioned put up better #s than kendrick in 2012. Nor did they put out a better album. It's not close.

In the year 2012....Not years later after most of us have designated Kendrick as a GOAT.

The key is for everyone to take themselves back to the year 2012, then relive what they were listening to at that point in time.

I still have not even had a desire to listen to any Kendrick Lamar pre-GKMC. There are many many more that are the same way. Most hip hop listeners don’t type on message boards like we do.

Again fam, you're talkin about opinions and feelings, I'm simply going off of the #s.

But we’re supposed to give our opinions and feelings concerning 2012 rap music.

If we were only going by numbers, someone like Post Malone will end up being crowned the MVP one of these years.

#s wise Kendrick>>>>>>> the other guys u posted, that's not debatable.

Quality wise you're saying the niggas u posted were better?

Looking back to 2012 from 2018, of course none of them made a bigger impact on hip hop in 2012 than Kendrick.

In the year 2012 as shit was happening, Kendrick did not have a bigger impact than 2 Chainz, Rick Ross, or Future.

We’re not judging off sales, lyricism, or overall quality of music. We’re judging specifically off of “Who ran 2012?”, and the streets were lit up with hit songs from Future, Ross, and Chainz.

If that is the case Macklemore wins again then...lol

Not that it matters, but off this statement alone, you don't have a knowledge of 2 Chainz. Which is cool, but you can't speak on what you don't know. That was a feelings statement, bruh...
2012 must’ve been an off year if 2 Chainz is an mvp candidate. That’s like a 3rd option nigga like Jimmy Butler being a mvp candidate.

Again, an uninformed opinion. You don't like him? Ok. But come with something better than, 'he's wack'. He's got bars, he did numbers and was on quite a few of the more popular features from that year. Oh you mad cause I gave you some feelings? Get out of them then and articulate, my nigga.

This doesn’t negate my point and you going back and forth with me seems like feelings on your end.

Kendrick Lamar

That was the first classic you could say from the new wave and it really took people by surprise. Money Trees also took over social media and Kendrick got a platinum plaque.

2012 belonged to Kendrick
These things happened the following year fam.
