Doggystyle won the best album tournament we did on the IC, 400 didn't even make it to the top 10 lol

*Disclaimer* I didn't include Illmatic in the tournament for obvious reasons.

This is me,

That album came out in 1993 and it was a good album at the time it came out, thus rap being new and the west coast being a new presence in the game. (Outside of NWA) Snoop album being highly anticipated, that album got a lot of good reviews and sold good off its 2 single.

Now if you go back to that year (93) and check out all the albums that came out that year, even check out all the albums that came out on the West Coast, why wouldn't this album get the praise it needed to get at the time? Who really was running the rap game in 1993? Snoop already did his thing on The Chronic, so it was hype around his solo career and being that it really wasn't no other rapper talking about gangsta stuff and hoes, (something new) the album would get its just dues. But that album was ok.

It's only top 3 to some because of the hype that was around it and the magazines putting their stamp on it at the time because it was something (new).

That album aint even better than Wayne's Carter 1 or 2 Lol. And Wayne on both albums raps circles around Snoop, and Doggy-style is an all-time great, based on what? Production (Wayne's Carter 1 production on that album by Mannie, is killing every production song on the doggy-style album)
Lyrics (So now Snoop's lyric ability is seeing Wayne on Carter 1 and Carter 2) Lol.

Come on yall, let's start really seeing things for what they're worth.

Doggy-style is really better than Carter 1 or 2 from front to back??

If Doggy-style is top 3 then Carter 1 or 2 should be wayyyy ahead of that album

How the fuck is wack ass Juvenile in a discussion about Snoop, you southern niggas didn't defend that nigga in his own damn thread. That nigga wack so just accept that outside y'all region dude ain't shit.

motherfucka YOU WACK!!!

Aye, breh, I'm just speaking breh.

I can named 10 albums alone that's crushing Doggy-style and 400 degrees is one of them.

Lyrical and Production wise.

Snoop cool, but that Doggy-style album aint seeing Juvie 400 degrees or Wayne's Carter 1 or 2.

The polls say differently b

How is this nigga Top 25 and Beans aint yet alone Juvie?

What are we going by?

Ross gotta be Top 10.

Snoop brehs? This is the same nigga that made "Drop it Like it's Hot"? Snoop yoooo

Southern niggas don't follow trends or what other ppl project something may be.

Snoop cool, but that nigga aint no Top 25. That nigga second album "The Dogfather" was trash. What solid album did this nigga even have? Oh yea the ones he had on a Southern nigga's label. Smh. Let's keep it thorough if wanna break down rappers.

No way Snoop is seeing Wayne or Juvie, hell nigga aint even seeing Rick Ross or an early Trick Daddy, not Bun B, Not Big Boi.

I can go on, Nigga wasn't even the coldest one on NL Lol, smh. Top 25 eh.

Stop this nonsense, this nigga said Juvie, Trick Daddy Bun B and Big Boi. This can't be a serious post

i mean, if the criteria is supposed to be the same, then i honestly dont see how people just write off 400 like its just some nigga on soundcloud trying to get signed

400 will always be a personal top 5 to me. In the Juvie tourney, i voted where i think he properly ranks among people outside the south. Juvie got flow, he a goat storyteller, and has/had bars.

I only trust the musical opinion of a few people. I didnt vote on this artist b/c the only albums i've listened to in their entirety were the No Limit offerings. Snoop just was never my cup of tea. I'm not shitting on him either though. I wont deny his impact to rap, but he just aint moving the needle for me.

i would say the bias is strong for people outside of the south as it seems that only a select number of southern artists get love outside of the south
