Whats Your Male RNB Mount Rushmore?

That's a fair assessment of the term Pop, but it doesn't address my question.

I asked you specifically if you think Thriller, I'm Bad, and Black or White are R&B songs? If yes, would you say the same thing if white people were the ones that made them?

Thriller is disco. Mike did many different genres, dirty Diana (rock), don't stop til (disco), human nature (rnb), etc. But his main go to genre was rnb.

Pop isn't a sound, it's marketing.

The bold is the point being made. No one has said that Mike didn't do R&B. I believe the point being made is that you can't just boil Mike down to being a R&B artist because he basically made music that falls into all the various popular categories when he was around. That's why he's the King of Pop and not the King of R&B.

I can respect that.

I see we need a thread on how music genres work.

Saying MJ isn't RnB is blasphemous. MJ has never not been RnB, from the J5 to death.
Nigga made a mini movie based on a song about a killer stalker where he turned into a car. That's not necessarily baby making music.
