Goddamn @ several energy drinks a day WITH Coca Cola

I posted this pic back on the IC from my desk at the office:

I used to stop at walmart on the way to the office every few days to re-up. I'd throw three cans in the fridge at work before leaving for the day so I would have cold joints when I got there. And I'd cop prolly a Full Throttle on the way to the office, especially the blue agave one.

When my wife stopped being able to walk and I had to work from home to care for her, energy drinks, coke, and super strong brewed black tea was the only way I could stay awake during the day and even then there was a high chance I still might nod off while working.

Sometimes I really struggle with guilt when I just want something for myself.....not the kids or the Mrs... I went to a nice restaurant I been wanting to try...alone. The meal was great and most importantly, I shed the guilt and just enjoyed myself for a moment.

That's a hard one to manage. At this point in life I have to remind myself that its ok to spend money on me after having sacrificed for the sake of the family for so long.
 
The gym. If i go more than a couple days without i can feel the lack of endorphin rush.

Therapy. It has helped tremendously.

Not wasting time on people who weren't reciprocating the same effort. In the last couple years I've lost a few relationships with people id held onto for years, one even from childhood, that I had to realize i was the one putting in most of the effort. Once I stopped making myself so available for some people alot of things became very clear.

Staying at home.

Im a home body man. Not going out as much to see friends or make my girl happy really helped.

It wasn't that the places I was going or people I was seeing was bad for my mental health, it was more so just the fact that I need alone time to recharge.

I cut down going out a ton, and mostly just chill with real close friends and family and the majority of the time I got them coming to the crib. This helps me destress and prepare for the new week.

My girl though needs to have human contact outside of the few people she sees everyday, so we balance my need of saying home with her needing to go out and see different faces.

Its fire being married to a person that understands and communicates.

I haven’t been to the range in a minute mostly since I’m in the road traveling and only bring my CCW w/ me. All my fun gats are at the crib lol so it’s not really appealing plus I just hate indoor ranges but I need to get back to this once I do a job change and funds allow me to finish some builds I been wanting to do.

Also on my list…

Hiking I enjoy being outdoors and disconnecting from the cellphone

Traveling I like discovering new places and doing new shit. Job helped a bunch w/ this since I brought me through or to places I normally would have never went.

Working with my hands or fixing shit has always been a getaway.. I use to love working on cars and still do well just my own just turning some wrenches can or be a stress reliever depending on what your doing 😂.
 
Also going to watch live football/soccer everyother week, its not just about the football but you defo let loose...

Its a time when guys seem open up about sh!t, prolly because we sit next to eachother and not face to face lol

Thats the oldskool mentally, my Dad is the same... he had a really hard/tough life right from childhood to adulthood and he 'just got on with it'... thankfully my dukes is more understanding on these matters...

My therapist told me obvious shit but for some reason it helped

Just with whatever decision you make, you cannot feel bad about it

You are making whatever decision for your sake and you have to put yourself first sometimes

Yeah, my wife helps me balance this. She'll encourage me to buy basic stuff for myself.

I'm on the trails every Saturday and Sunday after the gym. Got a few spots I go to so I can just sit off and enjoy the peace and serenity and take pictures while I'm out there.

My Dads parents are Irish, so hes got that same kinda bottled up emotional logic from that era lol

Theres two types of Irish, really closeknit and jovial or bottled up and pretty cold, his parents were the latter...

In fact his Dad spent most his life in prison so he barely knew him and I never met him (my grandfather)...

I try dont sweat the small stuff, control what i control gaming, working out and shooting around are essential i keep my moments of rage.. in moment..

Above all stay drama free I don't invite it or toil in it

Story of my life 😩 for the most part I quit or very seldom drink energy drinks nowadays… now the Coca Cola… I can’t beat that habit.

One thing I started doing different and getting me away from depending on energy drinks is using propel, body armor (powder) or even the drinks and mixing one packet in a big bottle of water like a 32oz etc and just sipping that throughout the day. Helps me drink more water and gives that little flavor. Working a physical labor job, in the heat I need all the electrolytes I can get. You can also double up on the packets if desired. You can even use pre workout but stay away from the ones that have Beta-Alanine unless you enjoy the “itch” or tiggle you generally get from it.

It’s been rough for me as far as energy because I don’t drink coffee and never have

Everybody be going through their days with coffee and I’m doing it off the natty lol
