I hate to bring this up... But yeah I worked for best buy and when you start seeing these products from the retail side, you see how crazy the upcharge is

ONLY reason I didn't stay at Best buy is bcuz they bullshit with their commission positions.

Gaming, camera, it doesn't matter what u looking for in a phone I ALWAYS found customers a phone that performed higher for lower money. It's how I was able to so easily attach accessories.

Whatever someone told me their budget was and what they wanted....I could always find then an option with su much left in the budget, they'd go over in the accessories. Like every time. It was easy

Plenty of phones have great cameras. Laser focus on that. Then match the rest of the specs, and when you enter them start from low to high...and ready reviews.

There's phones with 6gigs of ram $200 cheaper than ones with 4gigs.

But if the 4 gig is apple.... people gonna run with it, even when a 6 gig will run faster at what single level

These days Apple has made themselves the brand of the "well to do" and people who want to put forth that appearance buy the shit even though you can get something that's more capable and far cheaper sitting next to it on the store shelves.

When I was at BB, Apple was struggling to make a dent in the home computer market. You bought one if you were in shit like graphic design or maybe you were trying to build a studio around ProTools. Anything else and you bought a PC and that's why Apple nearly went under in the late 90's.

The new ones look real nice on a quick skim. Macbook pro 16 has 8TB storage and 128GB ram

I still wouldn't because I've tried a relatives iMac and I hated the interface lol

Energy drinks used to be $2 for a 16oz can. Then they all increased their prices between 2021 - 2022 to $3+ per can. That's a 50% increase for the same shit you were just buying.

I had my last can of Amp back in early August. I ain't buying that shit ever again.

I buy my phones outright, so I only get older phones or cheaper joints and, yes, I'm against contracts. I haven't had a contract on a phone since 2018 and I really don't see the point in getting back into a contract ever again. Phones are just not the centerpiece of my life and never will be, so I see no reason to invest so much into them.

I hear you. It's not the centerpiece of my life either, but it is a good tool. That's like a 100 useful things you can do with your phone that doesn't involve social media or anything that leads to obsessive behavior. To each his own though.

Same with my desktops and laptops, but... you know... with far more powerful processors, more ram, better graphics, an actual keyboard and mouse, and bigger monitors and whatnot.

I get what you're trying to say, but with respect, you're just incorrect on this. I assess tech for a living. 6 gig =/= faster performance.

It depends on a number of things. In the past, iPhones always had less RAM than Android phones and outperformed even most high end Android phones because iOS is optimized for iPhones and you can't optimize Android for 100 different phones. Apple marks up their products like every other company, but there's no arguing that they use higher end tech and materials than most cheaper phones. I say that as someone who doesn't even like Apple products.
