Murs and 9th Wonder - Murs 3:16 The 9th Edition

Was a huge fan of 9th Wonder from his work with Little Brother. I didnt know anything about Murs when this album came out but it was the best introduction possible. He worked perfectly with 9ths Soulful beats. Funny enough anytime Murs did a solo album I really didnt care for it much. Every time he did an album with 9th it was an instant listen.

I did grow to appreciate Murs as a rapper the more i digged into his music though. His work with Living Legends is classic and his albums with Slug from Atmosphere as the group Felt is incredible.

Atmosphere - When Life Gives You Lemons, You Paint That Shit Gold

Huge fan of Atmosphere as a kid. Slug (the rapper) was so relatable to me even as a pre teen. Early Slug would have battle bars and raps about broken relationships. Their album prior to this one was called "You Cant Imagine How Much Fun We're Having" and it was their best work at the time, but this album dropped and surpassed it in every where. Ants Production was on a whole new level that was not achieved previously. Slug wrote his most introspective raps to date on this one, struggles with addiction and relationships. Also tons of storytelling songs that made you really think. Slug and Ant were in top form on this album. They were more mature and growing as artists as well.
