OPINION What year did you realize Hiphop was dead??

Hip hop don't die, we just age out. Just like in 2006 when Nas said hip hop was dead and battle rap was evolving underground, somewhere out there a whole new movement is on the rise. The OGs of this generation just gotta be ready to congregate with the community and pass the torch to the next generation. Plus there was nothing worse than the ringtone era.

Hiphop is dead bro I’m sorry to have to break it to you

That’s really insightful big bro

It actually is hatin’ ass nigga lol

Disco is dead…people don’t make disco songs anymore

Jazz is not dead…while it may not be as commercially relevant there are people who still make Jazz records

As long as artists still make “hip-hop” songs/albums then hip-hop is not dead

:hedidit:

So these other arts can die but hiphop is immortal because reasons

Got it

Hip hop died when it became commercial

Sooo since Sugarhill Gang’s Rappers Delight?? Orrr Run DMC’s Walk This Wat?? Hammer?? Hip-Hop has been “commercially accessible” since people figured out they can make money off it…

In 2025 of you can’t find any hip-hop music you like then it’s prolly more of what @Allah_U_Akbar said and you may have just “aged out” of tha “culture”…but rest assured Hip-Hop is still alive

I DL hip-hop albums damn near every Friday 🤷🏽‍♂️

lol here we go with the “you gotta look for it” replies

Waiting for the Griselda post..

"I'll slap one of these rap niggas with the hands of Christ on Grammy night"

Hip hop started in the streets, and it's still there to this day. Whoever represents it in the mainstream is doing so under their rules. You're always gonna get that comment, because that's the nature of the culture. If something you heard on the radio made you think hip hop is dead, that's on you. My family helped build this culture... as long as my heart is beating hip hop will remain alive.
