Poetry is a written record of a people's existence. Black America has documented our history and struggle with the pen. From Phyllis Wheatley to Countee Cullen to Tupac Shakur the history of our people and our struggle has been preserved in our poetry. 500 years from now people will be studying Pac like we study Shakespeare.
