That's still not my point. Even if we all agree for the sake of the argument that she's full of shit, y'all are still trying to argue that how a daycare gets it's funding is some secretive knowledge that can't be shared with just anyone. When in fact it can be shared with literally anybody and I promise it wouldn't hurt them.

If you say so bro. She said pretty clearly that she had struggled to get financing and that she specifically asked about getting that and they refused to tell her. If you think something as simple as sharing financing avenues is something that needs to be hidden from other black people, that says a lot about you and why black people as a community never get anywhere.

I ain't on this FBA vs Foreign born black people like others on here, but I do acknowledge the fact that a lot of them don't see us as allies or kin. Those people didn't tell her because they didn't want to help her not that it was some super special information that couldn't be shared. Personally, if someone asks me how did I get my house, I would tell them the process as it doesn't require me to divulge and personal details about myself. My pre approval might be different from theirs based on certain factors.

But it still is going to require some independent work from the person inquiring

I also don't know if just her issue with getting a business loan was the sole issue. Maybe that's where she misstepped and should've texted to focus on state assisted finding.

Yes, we're projecting a bit, but she wasn't as vague as you all are making it seem. She clearly states that the problem she faced was getting funding (which is a known problem for African Americans in general by the way) and that she noticed that the Somalis were having no problem getting funding. Then she said she asked how they did it. How much more information do you need? That should be good enough unless you believe there is some special way that the question needed to be asked.

At the end of the day, either you believe we should be community and black people should be open when it comes to helping other black people or you believe that people need to jump through certain hoops before they are worthy of help. Either way is fine, but if you feel the right way is the latter don't be on some pro-black shit because obstacles to getting help are the reason why our community is the way it is now.

There's a hill you have to get over just to get in the game and it's higher for black people. Maybe it's because my wife is a black female business owner and I've been with her every step of the way, so off top I know exactly what she's talking about. There's nothing nefarious here. It's a pretty well known problem black people face. That's why you can got to any black neighborhood in America and find three times as many Asian owned businesses as black owned businesses.

I honestly think it's number 1. A lot of Africans are very insular when it comes to their community, and they don't really consider us as part of their community. That's not a knock against them. It just is what it is. Black solidarity is really some Western Hemisphere ish.
