So what is the purpose of wearing a device that keeps time, if you already carry a cell phone?

So I can tell time without pulling out my phone.

Contrary to a lot of folks, I really don't use my phone for much. Music when I'm at the gym or out shopping or quick and dirty camera when one of my real cameras aren't in arms reach (i.e. when I'm not in the car and don't feel like walking back to the car to grab a camera); those are my typical uses for my phone.
