Was 7 straight summers a myth ??

I've noticed a lot of Jay slander these days.
A lot of discrediting his run, his pen, his ability to make hits.
So I'm debating on youtube and Duke hits me with this run down as to why Jay 7 straight summers etc was a myth, didn't happen, was a lie, he made it up, totally fabricated.
How y'all feel about it ? Did Jay run rap for 7 summers ???

You have to remember he was on alot of b-sides and posse cuts.

For example, I was living in NYC in the summer of 98. He had It's Alright, Hardknock Life, Money Cash Hoes, Can I Get A..., and Money Ain't A Thing on heavy rotation, which meant one of those 4 songs was getting played every 15 minutes.

In the summer of 04 I was in New Jersey. He had Crazy In Love, Dear Summer, Public Service Announcement and the Excuse Me Miss Remix getting played every 15 minutes.

I can't speak for those other summers, but the Rocafella Promotion/Advertising team knew how to launch hit singles at the same time.

Jay likes to self-proclaim a lot of shit but he gets away with it because there's usually an ounce of credibility attached to it, he just gasses it up.

Case in point 7 summers straight. Yeah he probably wasn't THE "hottest" in each of those summers but he was in enough mixes/dj rotations that he could say such a thing and the masses wouldn't necessarily think "ayo wtf is this nigga talking about?!"

Same goes with claiming he can park in his own arena, I'm the king of NY, you made it a hot line I made it a hot song, you said you've been in it 10 I've been in it 5...or whatever else he's come up with over the years.

The point is it's a mix of clever wordplay, ounce of plausibility and lots of embellishments
