If I was an artist that didn’t own my publishing then I wouldn’t do a verzuz cause only the label would get the money from the sales..

Even if someone else owned the rights to your music, you'd still be raising your profile by doing. more people would become aware of you, follow you, etc.

I'm sure it's a helluva lot better for artist's that own their music, but it's not like you'd be losing anything by doing it even if you didn't.
