I think ya'll are overestimating how many people voted based on Meg's antics alone. I think the majority of people that went that route saw Kamala's use of Meg as just one piece of the puzzle for why they didn't want to vote for her and chose to use that as their primary example. I honestly don't think Harris was a good candidate. She was just much better than Trump. That's the problem. A lot of people couldn't put her flaws to the side and focus on how much better she was than the orange goblin. That's not an American problem though. It's been happening all over the world lately. It's just magnified for us because we did it bigger and dumber with higher stakes.

Meg was another excuse to justify their nonsense. These same people get all their talking points for social media click bait titles. Those same social media videos we found out were made n pushed by Russian trolls.

Before that they were screaming about Biden being too old, then end it by saying that why we need Trump. How all of a sudden Trump is young when he was old enough to go to school with Biden.

The Meg thing was no big deal to me because politicians always use celebrities that way. And we all know older black people don’t like ratchet shit but nobody with common sense was gonna use that to lot vote for Kamala. I think they just wanted an excuse without saying they don’t want to vote for that non white woman. Most black men and women voted for her but a lot of the loudest niggas made it seem like they represent the real blacks

But it is needed. Trump has skewed the whole political landscape to the point that ya'll don't even understand what campaigns are for anymore. They aren't just so candidates can get up there and appeal to cults of personality with dumb antics. They are meant for candidates to make the case for the plans they want to implement if elected and for them to hear and adjust to the people's response to those plans. It matters that Kamal wasn't a good candidate because that's the only reason Trump even had a chance.

Ya'll are exaggerating the significance of the Meg shit. Kamala lost way more support when she refused to outright say that she would stop supplying Israel with the means to commit the genocide or when she let Liz Cheney campaign for her. She lost a lot of support off those two moves because guess what? Most people in the democratic base don't want to support genocide or Republican policies. They didn't want Trump, but they also didn't want a female Bush in blackface. Those people didn't necessarily vote for Trump, but they chose not to vote for Kamala. We can't just ignore that. We all agree that everybody should have voted for a mildewed sock over Trump, but one day Trump will be gone.

The only way we'll avoid another Trump is if both the voters and politicians learn their lessons.
