President Trump, speaking during a White House meeting with Micheál Martin, the Irish taoiseach, said that he believed the people of Ireland were “very happy” with the U.S.-Israeli war in Iran.

His remarks have no basis in reality — the war is deeply unpopular in Ireland, and many people in the country, including lawmakers (and Martin himself) have expressed concern over it. Ireland has also historically opposed Israeli actions in the Middle East because of long-standing popular support for Palestinians.

Trump is voicing his frustrations with NATO with increasing directness. “I’m disappointed in NATO,” he said, and asserted that other world leaders should be thanking him for striking Iran.

Poor priorities are a problem for a lot of people out of politics. That's true. That's said, those old dudes you talking about could see how stupid Meg shaking ass at a political rally was with their own eyes. Most of them probably didn't know who Sheff G was let alone his background. So I don't know if it's true that they see ass shaking as being worse than murder. Now some of the younger voters...that's a different story.

You're right. post Civil War the North didn't round up everyone associated with the Confederacy and kick them out of the country. Can't argue with you there, which is why I've never been a fan of the big movements to get people to vote. I'm a staunch believer that most people shouldn't vote. They should participate in the process as far as making known what they need, but voting should be left to the people who are actually going to put the effort in to understand what's at stake.
