The British government has warned U.K. citizens in the United Arab Emirates that they could be jailed or deported for “photographing, posting, or sharing images” of sites where missiles and drones have struck, as well as government buildings and diplomatic missions.

The British embassy in Dubai issued the statement on Friday, a day after a British legal assistance group, Detained in Dubai, said that at least 21 people had been charged with committing offenses by taking or sharing videos and photos of missile strikes and damage.

I've been listening to this for decades, i am aware of the stakes

One thing my pops always made clear to me was that Vietnam was a popular war at first. Part of the Ali vs Frazier mystique was that Smokin Joe supported the war. Getting drafted to military service had been a regular feature of Amerikkkan life for decades, every generation since WW1 sent their sons off to die in Eurasia. so people didn't immediately notice how extra racist the draft was w/ Vietnam until they woke up one day and realized a school in North Philly had 64 students die in jungle warfare. this contributes to the war becoming so unpopular, it destroys the presidency of a guy who won 486 electoral votes.

Restarting the draft for an invasion and occupation of Iran is about as popular as Cancer. Actually you know what, i think Cancer gets a bad rap. There's some people we need to lose to Cancer. Cancer is natural, its not all that bad. There's upsides to Cancer. Most upside than there is to invading and occupying a mountainous country 4 times the size of Iraq. But it is indeed wishful thinking. they rebuilt the whole system to make sure the politics of the Vietnam Draft could never happen again. We might as well argue about alien intervention. The real danger is them nuking Iran honestly.....
